To nominate a blog you need to leave a comment on this entry. Your comment should contain the name of the blog, the main URL for the blog, and (if possible) the URL for a RSS/Atom feed. For example:

Unless you login via one of the supported authentication services (Typekey, WordPress, OpenID, Yahoo, AIM, etc.) your comment will not be published immediately. Unauthenticated comments are placed in a moderation queue. Due to the volume of comments, it may take up to 24 hours for your comment to be approved. Comments from authenticated users will be published immediately.

Every so often our spam fighting service flags an authenticated comment as spam. If put more than 10 URL's in a comment it will set off the junk filter.   • Rather than add a "me too" nomination for a site you're encouraged to use the "+" icon to indicate your preference for nominees. The "+" ratings are one extra piece of information the finalist selection panel can use to help generate the finalist slates in each category.
  • Given the two previous items, we reserve the right to remove excessive comments (i.e. nominations) for the same site.
  • The nomination period is scheduled to end on Wednesday, November 19, 2008.
  • The nomination period has been extended to Friday, November 21, 2008.
  • Voting for selected finalists is scheduled to begin December 8, 2008. Finalists will be announced several days before voting begins.

The Sydney Morning Herald portal has the greatest number of consistent participants.

Sam de Brito is Australia's most orginal and insightful writer/journalist. All Men Are Liars is said to be about "the business of being a bloke", but while Sam writes a lot about issues facing men, his blog traverses all manner of subject matters, the only real criterion being that the topic be thought provoking. Sam writes with great insight, compassion and wit, but the quality that brings me (and, I believe, many others) back consistently is Sam's fearless honesty. You can find the topics he writes on being written about and discussed in many places, but you won't find the same honesty and lack of politically correct veneer anywhere else. I think a glance at the diversity of his fans is the greatest testament to that.
