To nominate a blog you need to leave a comment on this entry. Your comment should contain the name of the blog, the main URL for the blog, and (if possible) the URL for a RSS/Atom feed. For example:

Unless you login via one of the supported authentication services (Typekey, WordPress, OpenID, Yahoo, AIM, etc.) your comment will not be published immediately. Unauthenticated comments are placed in a moderation queue. Due to the volume of comments, it may take up to 24 hours for your comment to be approved. Comments from authenticated users will be published immediately.

Every so often our spam fighting service flags an authenticated comment as spam. If put more than 10 URL's in a comment it will set off the junk filter. If your comment doesn't immediately appear that's probably what happened. We review and "unjunk" these comments as we are approving unauthenticated comments. We're sorry for the inconvenience.

Rules And FAQ's

  • You can nominate yourself, don't be shy.
  • The number of nominations a blog receives is irrelevant. One nomination is enough...
  • Rather than add a "me too" nomination for a site you're encouraged to use the "+" icon to indicate your preference for nominees. The "+" ratings are one extra piece of information the finalist selection panel can use to help generate the finalist slates in each category.
  • Given the two previous items, we reserve the right to remove excessive comments (i.e. nominations) for the same site.
  • The nomination period is scheduled to end on Wednesday, November 19, 2008.
  • The nomination period has been extended to Friday, November 21, 2008.
  • Voting for selected finalists is scheduled to begin December 8, 2008. Finalists will be announced several days before voting begins.
  • Read The Nomination FAQ
  • Get Weblog Award logos to post on your site. Link to the nomination index or your favored category
  • Get technical help or ask questions at The Weblog Awards Forum
  • If you are linking to the contest consider using the nomination category archive, as it contains links to all of the nomination posts.

As my blog was a finalist in this category for 2007, I might as well offer it for consideration again.

The woman is a gem! With passion she comments on life and literature

The woman is a gem as she comments on life and literature

As much as I love Kate McMillan, its time for someone else to win for once.

Well I would have nominated RG but since she wants someone else to win I'll go with Kate even though she's long in the tooth I still like her.

And then theres Mitchieville!!!!!

Assoluta Tranquillita

The Offical Brat Blog!

someone else's turn to win.

I would like to nominate:

SDA just keeps geting better and better.

national treasure

I nominate Small Dead Animals because it is far and away the best blog in Canada. Kate tells it like it is, very astute, common sense and she spot a coyote a long ways off.

Meg Fowler:

I nominate Marginal Action Dinosaur

because he's NOT too shy to nominate himself.

I nominate Kathy Shaidle:

and Ezra Levant:

I nominate Reality Chick for the outstanding contribution she continues to make on her anti TASER blog

She is making a difference.

I wish to nominate Reality Chick's blog because of the continued dedication and contribution she has made in making a difference on the TASER issue in Canada... She can be counted on to keep us updated daily on the misuse, overuse and abuse of this horrific device.

So many I would have nominated have already been nominated so this is to correct an oversight. I nominate:

The Torch

I think this is a very provocative and funny Canadian Blog.

nice linkdump / blog

I nominate Design is Philosophy - a web design blog by a Norwegian in Canadian exile focusing on standards based code, CSS and WordPress customization:

Tanis is far and away one of the most talented writers in Canada and her blog rocks.

Tyler brings it all together! If you really want to get the pulse of clean tech in Canada and the world - this is THE place without a doubt. I recommend him for best Canadian Blog because he calls it the way he sees it and covers and champions Canadian stories like no other in the business.
