Nominate your choice for best blog written by a celebrity. The definition of celebrity will remain deliberately vague, but suffice it to say that it will be helpful to a celebrity bloggers chances if they have appeared at some point on TV, movies, records, radio, etc. Character blogs from shows are eligible here as well. This category is NOT for blogs about celebrities; those nominations should go in the Best Gossip Blog category.

NOMINATIONS ARE CLOSED FOR ALL CATEGORIES EXCEPT THE FOLLOWING:

Best Large Blog
Best Mid Major Blog
Best Mid Minor Blog
Best Small Major Blog

To nominate a blog you need to leave a comment on this entry. Your comment should contain the name of the blog, the main URL for the blog, and (if possible) the URL for a RSS/Atom feed. For example:

Unless you login via one of the supported authentication services (Typekey, WordPress, OpenID, Yahoo, AIM, etc.) your comment will not be published immediately. Unauthenticated comments are placed in a moderation queue. Due to the volume of comments, it may take up to 24 hours for your comment to be approved. Comments from authenticated users will be published immediately.

Every so often our spam fighting service flags an authenticated comment as spam. If put more than 10 URL's in a comment it will set off the junk filter. If your comment doesn't immediately appear that's probably what happened. We review and "unjunk" these comments as we are approving unauthenticated comments. We're sorry for the inconvenience.

Rules And FAQ's

  • You can nominate yourself, don't be shy.
  • The number of nominations a blog receives is irrelevant. One nomination is enough...
  • Rather than add a "me too" nomination for a site you're encouraged to use the "+" icon to indicate your preference for nominees. The "+" ratings are one extra piece of information the finalist selection panel can use to help generate the finalist slates in each category.
  • Given the two previous items, we reserve the right to remove excessive comments (i.e. nominations) for the same site.
  • The nomination period is scheduled to end on Wednesday, November 19, 2008.
  • The nomination period has been extended to Friday, November 21, 2008.
  • Voting for selected finalists is scheduled to begin December 8, 2008. Finalists will be announced several days before voting begins.

  • Get technical help or ask questions at The Weblog Awards Forum

Members have real-time interaction on posts as they are made. And they don't hold anything back.

I'd like to nominate We Are Pop Slags: www.wearepopslags.com. It's a website about pop music, about celebrities in pop, but without getting into all their movements. It's the culture they produce, not just the photos they end up in.

If you want to be famous, you'll need to add to pop culture in one way or another. Not just being pretty and being able to pout!
