To nominate a blog you need to leave a comment on this entry. Your comment should contain the name of the blog, the main URL for the blog, and (if possible) the URL for a RSS/Atom feed. For example:

Unless you login via one of the supported authentication services (Typekey, WordPress, OpenID, Yahoo, AIM, etc.) your comment will not be published immediately. Unauthenticated comments are placed in a moderation queue. Due to the volume of comments, it may take up to 24 hours for your comment to be approved. Comments from authenticated users will be published immediately.

Every so often our spam fighting service flags an authenticated comment as spam. If put more than 10 URL's in a comment it will set off the junk filter. If your comment doesn't immediately appear that's probably what happened. We review and "unjunk" these comments as we are approving unauthenticated comments. We're sorry for the inconvenience.

Rules And FAQ's

  • You can nominate yourself, don't be shy.
  • The number of nominations a blog receives is irrelevant. One nomination is enough...
  • Rather than add a "me too" nomination for a site you're encouraged to use the "+" icon to indicate your preference for nominees. The "+" ratings are one extra piece of information the finalist selection panel can use to help generate the finalist slates in each category.
  • Given the two previous items, we reserve the right to remove excessive comments (i.e. nominations) for the same site.
  • The nomination period is scheduled to end on Wednesday, November 19, 2008.
  • The nomination period has been extended to Friday, November 21, 2008.
  • Voting for selected finalists is scheduled to begin December 8, 2008. Finalists will be announced several days before voting begins.
  • Read The Nomination FAQ
  • Get Weblog Award logos to post on your site. Link to the nomination index or your favored category
  • Get technical help or ask questions at The Weblog Awards Forum
  • If you are linking to the contest consider using the nomination category archive, as it contains links to all of the nomination posts.

military spouse community

I like this community about digital art:

I nominate Work It! Mom

The Scissorheads at Mock, Paper, Scissors are the funniest band of incorrigible spitballers on the innertubes.

i nominate: as the "Best Online Community".

Terra Networks USA's "Espacio Terra"

I second Tengrain. Mock, Paper, Scissors is the best place ever.

I'll agree with Tengrain... will do it!

We are family!
You get to discuss environmental issues with an Inuit from Nunavut, a Greenpeace activist in Sweden, an Ecologists in Nigeria, several Meteorologist in America, some Farmers in New Zealand, lots of Aussies with attitude, and many more at The never dull, very best community blog.
PS And there should also be a best environment blog category.

This is the best community because of the personal nature of the blogs.

Metafilter Community Weblog

Rumproast, because I really like my blog's commenters in a totally sexual way:

Jennifer puts the other side of most environmental issues with some solid facts.

jennifier produces a blog against the prevailing tide of opinion. She bases her conclusions on facts and destroys argumnents that are not based on facts

Colman Moloney

I enjoy Jennifer's critical analysis of so-called scientific experts and she finds flaws in thier "so-called" facts or assumptions.

I enjoy Jennifer's blog as it posts some real science with recorded facts on issues of importance like water, soils and fire rather than pseudo science based on rhetoric and emotion without any solid base of facts No Quarter is an online community where people from different political backgrounds can come together for civil discussions.

It's Getting Hot in Here - dispatches from the youth climate movement

It’s Getting Hot in Here is the voice of the youth climate movement, it features the student and youth leaders from the movement to stop global warming and to build a more just and sustainable future.

Jennifer You are doing well and such odds - being an informed skeptic is apparently politicaly incorrect and irreverent

The Community at

Daily Kos. Period.

38,732 Members. 176,236 posted pictures. 23,074 board posts.

I come for the articles, stay for the comments.

Gizmodo has by far the best and most diverse on community.

feed:// has blown up on YouTube with their weekly show TechUpdate. The show summarizes all the best tech-related news from all the major blog sites, and fills in the blanks with endless banter.

More importantly, they have sparked a huge community of followers on their website and forums, and more importantly on YouTube. They give away prizes like video cards and high performace PC parts in exchange for viewers making their own reviews on products/games/etc...

I nominate MJJCommunity

Michael Jackson Fan Forum
