To nominate a blog you need to leave a comment on this entry. Your comment should contain the name of the blog, the main URL for the blog, and (if possible) the URL for a RSS/Atom feed. For example:

Unless you login via one of the supported authentication services (Typekey, WordPress, OpenID, Yahoo, AIM, etc.) your comment will not be published immediately. Unauthenticated comments are placed in a moderation queue. Due to the volume of comments, it may take up to 24 hours for your comment to be approved. Comments from authenticated users will be published immediately.

Every so often our spam fighting service flags an authenticated comment as spam. If put more than 10 URL's in a comment it will set off the junk filter. If your comment doesn't immediately appear that's probably what happened. We review and "unjunk" these comments as we are approving unauthenticated comments. We're sorry for the inconvenience.

Rules And FAQ's

  • You can nominate yourself, don't be shy.
  • The number of nominations a blog receives is irrelevant. One nomination is enough...
  • Rather than add a "me too" nomination for a site you're encouraged to use the "+" icon to indicate your preference for nominees. The "+" ratings are one extra piece of information the finalist selection panel can use to help generate the finalist slates in each category.
  • Given the two previous items, we reserve the right to remove excessive comments (i.e. nominations) for the same site.
  • The nomination period is scheduled to end on Wednesday, November 19, 2008.
  • The nomination period has been extended to Friday, November 21, 2008.
  • Voting for selected finalists is scheduled to begin December 8, 2008. Finalists will be announced several days before voting begins.
  • Read The Nomination FAQ
  • Get Weblog Award logos to post on your site. Link to the nomination index or your favored category
  • Get technical help or ask questions at The Weblog Awards Forum

Karie & Scott - Our European Adventure
This is the story of a husband and wife that have embarked on an adventure of a lifetime. We sold (almost) everything we own and hopped on a plane to Barcelona with nowhere to live.

Water Molotov - a Street Photography blog

Daily Dose of Imagery

I would like to nominate the following blog for Best Photo Blog. Dr. Cason's photography is incredible. Her sharing of beautiful photography, her life as a pediatrician, and her family brings so much pleasure to all who visit her blog each day.

Dr. A Doctor's Life

Secret Agent Mama

Her photos of everyday objects and situations are extraordinary! Her blog entries are also funny and inspiring and it a daily read for me.

What in the World...?
Piper does a wonderful job sharing her world through a camera lens.

Snapped Shot

Featues the distinctive male portraiture by Fred Pyrczak. All models in the photographs are "personalized" with their profiles. Weekly contests allow viewer participation.

Not just photos but lots of interesting stuff

l u a n . c o m -
Mainly Australian wildlife and landscapes, but also travel photography.

I have learned so much from reading Bagnews Notes. An artist's eye with lasers...cuts through to the heart of it each and every time. Don't miss out.

Here's the Bagnews Notes link:

I always go here for photos that really tell it like it is. The August post shows Joe Lieberman blended into Sarah Palin with wanton looks for John McCain that were brilliant but the site is covered with amazing photos that tell their own story each time

California Coastal Records Project

Postcards of and from Maldives

More than a blog, this site, with hundreds of luscious photos of adventure travel around the world, as well as the author's life on an off-the-grid ranch in rural Oregon is, well, outside the box.

This team of people really went above and beyond the call of duty to help our wedding day go real smooth.

The site is very basic but I think they deserve a huge pat on the back and recognised for offering fantastic customer service and care.

Learned much and laughed much here at Stobist, thanks David

The photography business, the chaos of two kids and the ultimate love

Best ever blog for sharing lighting info

Elizabeth Briel is an Asia-based photographer, check out the lovely cyanotype art!

Great travel photography with a different slant.

I'd like to nominate Coinneach Photography

Joe Mcnally's blog

The strobist blog is a 'Gateway drug err blog' not only has it insidiously lead me to read other photo blogs, it's filled my cupboards with lighting junk, gear, my shelves with books, my head with physics, and my friends with pity (apart from those that I've similarly infected) Way to go David!

without a doubt it has to be strobist:-

Joe McNally's Blog:

Chase Jarvis' blog:

I'm also think that it's

David Hobby deserves recognition for his amazing work educating the photography world. He has certainly changed the way I see image making.
Brilliant site and well maintained

Strobist -

Another vote for

Hands down .

the best

This blog has been the single most influential source of photography information I've found. It's given me a renewed passion for photography and gave me the push to do this for a liviing now.

Another nomination for

Just like everyone else suggesting Strobist I find it invaluable but that's not my only reason, it also makes me laugh.

I very much appreciate David Hobby's dry sense of humour. - I've ruined the fun in learning photography

Fantastic site, well written and oh so very informative - deserves every award on the planet!

Photo of the Day blog--ocean, water, life, and surf!!!

A daily read for a daily dose of invaluable information on how to better approach photography: less gear, more brains, more lights! Thanks Strobist! An incredible source of inspiration for people on the cheap (like me!).

Strobist blogspot for the win

A lot of good information here and some great stories such as "My Meeting with Henri."

This has a lot of good information, is written in an easy and informal style, and has some great stories, such as "My Meeting with Henri."

Very useful sight. There are many practical tips.

Working hard to bring the photo community all of the goods re: gear, reviews, art the art of photography. Plus free stuff every week.

Good information in a friendly, well-written style.

Strobist is clearly tops!
It contains a lot of common sense direction on what photography is all about.

Excellent Blog!
Love reading it!

PRIMO! what more can I say?

This blog is filled with insights and great photography. Well written, and very interesting in thought as well as visually appealing.
